Portrait - Syamil

Last-last bile da sampai dekat lokasi, bangunan tu da siap pulak tapi masih kosong lagi. Disebabkan dah buntu mana nak pergi, kitorang pon belasah je la shoot dalam tu.

Three (3) external flash were used in this shot. One is located in front of the subject, another one is located 45 degree to the right of the subject and the other one is located behind the subject at a very low angle pointing 75 degree upward to highlight some details on the back of the hand.

Tips on using a CLS technique is to know where do you want the light to highlight the subject. I've seen some people used this technique in the wrong way. They just take out the flash from the camera, activate the signal and shooting without knowing the angle, position and amount. Another one is try the flashlight one by one to find the right exposure, instead of firing all at one without knowing the amount of exposure needed. (Well this is my way of doing this. Ignore this if you have your own method). The amount of exposure doesn't have to be perfect, only make sure there are no details loss.
